CCIC at National Society of Professional Engineers Bridge Building Competition
For the second year in a row a CCIC student won the National Society of Professional Engineers Bridge Building Competition in Colorado (Region1). Christopher Spalding, a student in the Product Design Pathway, won the competition with a bridge that weighed 56.51grams and held more than 240 pounds before breaking. Christopher won a $500 cash award and will receive a $1,500 scholarship when accepted into an Engineering Program at University.
In addition, Nathan Kwansah Jr. finished in 2nd place. Nathan Kwansah Jr, a student in the Product Design Pathway, built a bridge that weighed 49.99 grams and held more than 177 pounds before breaking. Nathan Won a $100 Visa gift card for his performance.
CCIC had an additional 7 students finish in the Top 10.
