This two-year industry-developed curriculum by the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute covers careers in hospitality and restaurant operations, customer service, sales, marketing, employability and soft skills, communication, guest experience cycle and food and beverage services. Successful participants in the program will have the opportunity to receive college credits, earn industry certifications and credentials, participate in a mentored internship off site and at our on-site café, and apply for industry scholarships. CCIC students will also have the opportunity to earn internship hours through our on-site cafe. Includes a 100-hour internship.

Certifications: Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP), ServSafe Food Handler, and Hospitality & Tourism Specialist (HTS)

This advanced program is for hospitality students who are ready for immersive work-based learning experiences within the hospitality industry. Students will start the year exploring hospitality career paths and developing their leadership styles using self-assessments and integrated mentorship experiences. Students will apply their different hospitality skills across authentic industry-directed problems of practice. In addition, students will develop goals and a plan for 150 hours of work-based learning experiences to be completed throughout the year. A digital portfolio will be utilized to showcase each student’s industry experience(s) and skills they develop along with industry mentor and instructor feedback. Student’s industry experience can be on campus (ex: CCIC events, CCICafé , CTE project management intern) or off campus (ex: hotel or restaurant internship or RYRA apprenticeship). The experience may be paid or unpaid (depending on the experience each student coordinates).
