An EMT is a trained health care professional who provides emergency medical care in
critical situations. They are often the first responders at the scene of accidents or
medical emergencies, performing lifesaving procedures like CPR and wound care. EMTs assess, stabilize & transport patients to medical facilities for further treatment. They play a crucial role in the chain of survival in emergency services.

National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)
Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association
This program provides the basic skills to work in an ambulance, apply for firefighting positions, work as an EMT in emergency departments, and work ski patrols. Those who complete the sequence will be eligible to take both the National Registry Practical and Written Examinations. Students will learn to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care, including patient assessment, airway management, CPR/AED, trauma care, and emergency response operations. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and professionalism in healthcare. This course includes classroom instruction, real-world hands-on simulations, and will culminate in 24 hours of clinical experiences on an ambulance (12 hours) and participate in an extrication lab (12 hours).
Note: Participation in EMT Clinical Ride Along hours requires students to provide documentation of active BLS CPR certification; cleared background check and drug screen. Participants must be able to provide documentation that the following vaccines were received OR documentation of immunity via titer level: A.) 2 MMR Vaccines/positive titer, B.) 2 Varicella Vaccines/positive titer, C.) 3 Hepatitis B Vaccines/positive titer/ waiver, D.) Tdap vaccine (within the last 10 years), E.) Documentation of a negative Tuberculosis Test completed within three (3) months of program start date by i.)Negative results from a Tuberculin Skin Test (TB), or ii.) Negative chest x-ray with a previous positive TB test *Good for 5 years, or iii.) Negative TB blood test, QuantiFERON® or T-SPOT®, F.) Documentation of current seasonal Influenza vaccine, and optionally G.) documentation of COVID-19 Vaccines.
