design is everywhere and learning it gives you the power to create content people love while opening doors to careers in design, animation, filmmaking, and media.
Skills Developed
Students engage in creating animations, stop motion, and motion graphics utilizing Adobe software. Throughout this process, they develop skills in storytelling, sound design, visual design, and collaboration. They experience culminates in projects that highlight creativity, perfect for a portfolio or demo reel, and equips students for careers in animation, film, and media.
Introduces students to the foundations of design and the creative power of time-based media. Motion Design is where art and design meet technology, transforming ideas into visually compelling stories through stop motion, 2D and 3D animation, graphic design, visual effects, storytelling, and sound design. Students gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software while creating projects in animation, graphics, sound, and video. The course emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration while exploring career pathways in motion design, film, animation, and digital media.
Students in this course have access to state-of-the-art cameras, editing software, facilities, audio tools, and film accessories as they pursue advanced film production. This course allows for individualized, advanced, and/or cumulative work in a program of study to allow for specialized study. It may include problem-/project-based learning or preparation for industry certification. The specific content and course design is determined by the instructor, in collaboration with the individual student. Projects emphasize higher-level storytelling, directing, and production techniques, giving students the opportunity to develop professional-quality short films and deepen their mastery of cinematic arts.
